Campground Inspection Reports

Campgrounds in Chemung County are regulated under Subpart 7-3 of the State Sanitary Code and are inspected on an annual basis as well as in response to specific complaints or incidents.  The inspection report is divided into two sections:  Red violations and Blue violations.  Red violations are considered to be public health hazards, are of a more serious nature and require immediate correction.  Blue violations are less severe in nature, but are still considered violations of the code and need to be corrected in an unspecified amount of time. Inspections are recorded on form DOH-4209

To see a copy of DOH-4209 for the generic listings of red and blue violations as well as a reference to the applicable code section on page 2 of the form, click HERE.

During the course of 2013, this Department started using "electronic tablets" (iPads) to conduct inspections in an electronic format.  Many of the inspection reports included below are in the new format that is slightly different than what is seen on the DOH-4209.  There are generic headings for each violation, but more details will generally be provided in a narrative by the inspector.  The applicable code section is referenced so that you can go to the CODE to see the specific requirement.

If you have any questions on any of the inspections shown on this page, feel free to contact the respective inspector listed on the inspection report to discuss.
